Hey Y'all:
Just wanted to leave a quick note.
I apologize for not posting but for these past few days, it's ride all day long, drop our bags, go out to eat and by the time we're done, it's time to sleep then my fat ass has to wake up early and hit the road.
I'm hoping I'll be able to write a little something in between the different places we'll be going to today.
I did enjoy Bike Night on Beale Street in Memphis, TN. Charlie, who is the ambassador at B.B. Kings, loved my bike so much he gave me a bullet key ring. That was effing cool.
Okay, I need to get into the shower then head to Graceland and the Civil Rights Museum (hotel where Dr. Martin Luther King was shot and killed).

2 Days, 22 hours & I'm about ready to burst!!!!
Okay, so my girlz Lilia & Jett called me out about my over-estimation of the gas costs but at least it's better to be safe than sorry. Hell, who knows how much more higher the gas prices will go while we're on our trip.
I'm somewhat in panic mode because I really haven't packed (well, only halfway). I'm afraid to pack too much because of the weight and I'm not used to having extra baggage on my bike besides my big ass. I'm only taking 2 extra prs of jeans, a few shirts, some t-shirts, board shorts, etc. I plan on washing my clothes anyway, so I don't need to take 15 days worth of clothes. I'm also not going to a fashion show, so it's jeans and t-shirts for me! :)
I accidentally drilled out the wrong rubber mount under one of my saddlebags and now, I need to head over to Home Depot to get a couple of screws/nuts to secure it back in. You would think of all the nuts & bolts I have, not a one is the size I need.
Met with Anita yesterday and dropped off the 10 cases of bottled water (thanks to my brother, who works for Pureflo) and biker buddies and my infamous cowboy hat, that is a must for the trip. :)
Afterwards, headed over to Boot World, where I must say, they don't have much of a selection. Didn't find any western boots that I liked for my trip and now, I will have to leave my bullet boot straps home. Why? Because the effing mofo on Ebay, purposely sent me the wrong size boots. Then, I paid extra to return them (UPS verified delivery on 6/4/08) and he has ignored every one of my emails since. Now, I have a claim against him on Ebay/PayPal. I don't have time to deal with his ass right now but when I return, he'll wished he didn't eff with me and my money.
Went to Cycle Gear and wished I wrote down what I needed but silly me. Picked up a ride bell for Colleen because on Saturday when I was installing her engine guard, I noticed her bell was gone. Also, picked up a clear face shield for my full-face helmet and dang it! I forgot to get a cargo net to strap the dang thing down on my bike.
My co-workers gave me grief for cutting my hair short but hell, I don't want to deal with my hair on the trip. It will grow out people!!! I kinda like it myself.
Need to give Angel a bath, put the Advantage on and do a good cleaning on her ears. Had to take her to the vet on Monday because she was in so much pain with her ears. Poor baby. Dropping her off at my mom's on Thursday. I'm gonna miss her irritating little butt. Okay, she ain't little...at all!!
Already laid down the ground rules with my roomies. Some say that it's a bit much to even lay down rules. But listen, after riding hundreds of miles in the heat and whatever other elements we may run into, I don't need anything irritating me when I'm trying to relax. So, I stated absolutely no phone walkie-talkie conversations in the room while I'm there because I don't want to hear your conversation!; sleep with the tv on, not a problem but keep the lights off; I snore...wear your earplugs!; I'll be wearing mine too since they both snore, as I was told; I SLEEP ALONE!!! See, not that bad of a list. Oh wait, Biby threatened me by saying she was going to wear a thong. LOL!!!
I'm trying to tie up loose ends here at work because I just know that it's going to be a mess when I get back. My co-workers aren't too happy that they have to take on extra loads of work in my absence. Don't cry to me people, I did that shit and your job before you ever came here!
Saturday can't come soon enough. I'm so needing this trip for so many reasons. I need to get back on track with my life. This trip is just what the doctor ordered.

7 Days & 7 Hours To Go!!!!
It's 11pm on this great Friday the 13th evening. I love this day while most are fearful of it.
Well, got the hair chopped off today because I don't want to deal with it on this trip. Just wash & wear. Who knows, maybe I'll just keep it short from here on end. Not alot of people are going be happy about it but they don't blow dry my hair everyday! Helloooooooooooooooo!!!!
Getting up early tomorrow and heading up to Oceanside to help Colleen install her new engine guard on her bike. Going to have to take the long way around because not only is there the US Open but the San Diego County Fair or as I still call it, The Del Mar Fair will begin tomorrow and traffic will be a biyatch...and I HATE traffic!
Still fine-tuning my bag locks. The install just wasn't as easy as they claimed it to be. The locks don't work in the numerous directions as it claims but it does lock and unlock, which is the most important thing. Need to finish putting the other quick-release assembly onto my bike then pack the bag up and take her for a ride so I can get accustom to the added bulk.
On another note, I still haven't received my replacement boots from Ebay since the mofo tried to pass off a pair of size 9's (mens) when I paid for 8½'s. Looks like I won't be riding into Dodge with the bullet boot chains. :(
The way the gas prices keep climbing, I'm anticipating paying around $5/gallon for Premium. I've allocated $1500 just for gas alone for the 15 day venture. UUUGGGHHHH!!!!!
My sisters are feverishly working to get things in order for this trip, making goodie bags for the teenagers, hitting up the various Harley dealerships for donations, and most importantly, I'm still trying to get the rest of the girlz to take a pic of themselves wearing a cowboy hat.
Well, I'm effing excited and next Saturday can't get here soon enough. I'm sooooo ready to head out of San Diego.

Girlz to Graceland
Leaving San Diego on 06/21/08
Returning to San Diego on 07/05/08
THE RIDE
On June 21st, 10 women from San Diego will be firing up their motorcycles to make a 15-day trip through 12 states. Our main destination is Graceland and we plan to arrive on 6/25/08 for a 2-day stay. We will have a documentary filmmaker along for the ride, as this trip is about so much more than just getting to Graceland. It's about our journey as women, a celebration of why we ride, and an homage to the rebels of yesteryear who saw the open road as an escape, a challenge, and a friend. The documentary will be submitted to the Sundance Film Festival in October 2008 for their 2009 season.
When we reach Memphis, we'll be stopping at Presley Place, a homeless shelter which is supported by Lisa Marie Presley and the Elvis Presley Foundation. While the dozens of parents at the shelter attend a Life Skills class, we'll be babysitting their children - taking photos on the motorcycles, providing them with biker toys and leading a cooking class on "How to Make a Biker Meal."
The women in our group come from all walks of life: lesbian, straight, Republican, Democrat, Independant, married, single, mothers - but we are united in two things -- our pride as women, and the joy we get from being on two wheels with the wind in our face. It is a sisterhood...we are the Girlz of Graceland.
CHARITY
Presley Place is a 12-unit apartment property, one of several such properties or “campuses” that are part of the outstanding Estival Communities program created and managed by the Metropolitan Inter-faith Association (MIFA) in Memphis. The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation's (EPFC) primary commitment has been to fund the building and operational costs of Presley Place. Also funded by the EPCF is the Elvis Presley Music Room, where the youngsters of Presley Place and all the other Estival campuses may enjoy access to musical instruments and instruction and participate in special related programs. Presley Place opened to its first residents in July 2001.
